IS MY MARRIAGE HONOURING GOD? Help! Must I do all my husband says?
Sometimes we find it difficult to understand the dynamics of love and submission in a marriage. Honouring God in our marriage is the center that holds all things. We honour God and express it by honouring each other. We honour what He is saying to us and how He is leading us in our current season. This is why it is truly about honouring God in each other. It also means recognizing God and deferring to Him. Deferring to God by default is deferring to the chain of command in the home, which places the husband as the head (A general rule before any exception) Ephesians 5:23. The general rule is not about the wife being silent, but about recognizing that God will reach her husband and hold him responsible for matters concerning their home (before He holds her responsible.)
