MARRIAGE CAN BE A PIECE OF CAKE

Dear Reader, you can catch up on our discussions so far by going through the preceding blog posts. This isn’t a regular blog, it’s a school of the Spirit thus every post has got valuable content for you, we, therefore, encourage you to treat as such.
Beloved, take a few moments to prayerfully consider the verses below:
“… Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness...” Genesis 1:26 KJV
“And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.” John 17:11 KJV

The Scriptures above points us to the fact that God is a “Us” and that there is a kind of unity that make “us” (multiple persons) One. In marriage, two people ought to become One.
“This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Since they are no longer two but one,” Genesis 2:24 NLT, Mark 10:7-8 NLT

Though this is the truth, couples do not literally experience this because the goodness of oneness can never be experienced outside of the One who spoke the ‘us’ into existence. This One is God-the Creator of the Universe. Just like various ingredients are mixed together to become one fantastic cake so, a man and a woman are joined together to become one in Christ.
As baking requires adequate skills acquired through training, marriage also requires training for couples to become purposeful lovers in marriage.

Why do people go through a divorce at 50? What’s the point?
Marriage outside its divine purpose (the Creator’s plan) is an unending quest for pleasure, which does not satisfy. Some people got into marriage for companionship, consistent sex and procreation thus, when any of these is lacking, the marriage has lost its usefulness and can be discarded.

The Creator intended for the Marriage between a man and woman to typify the union of Christ (the Messiah) and the Church. Check out Ephesians 5:22-33. When a person understands the divine purpose of Marriage, it becomes easier to live joyfully and purposefully with the spouse. This ESM Blog is aimed at helping readers imbibe what it means for the marriage relationship between a man and a woman to reflect the ‘relationship between Christ and the Church’.
All those who believe in Christ Jesus belong to the Kingdom of God, and this Kingdom is of a different culture from all else. We do not conform to the cultures of the world but to the standard of the Word. Hence, our approach to marriage differs greatly from what is widely considered as the norm.

A lot of questions may be brewing in your heart now,   endeavor to write them down for record purposes, you can ask these questions in the comments section of this blog. You can be assured that by the time we conclude the study of this schools curriculum, if you have applied yourself diligently and prayerfully to the teachings, your heart will be enlightened and you will grasp wholly the truth that has been and will be shared.

Attempt to answer the questions below as a way of revising what has already been taught:
1.       What is the purpose of marriage?

2.       Why are marriages failing to conform to the will of God?
